Craig Payst is a cartoonist, illustrator, and amateur cook who lives in a small farmhouse in Danville, Kentucky. He began Owls on the Table while living in Houston during a period of relative underemployment as a way to channel his lifelong obsessions with food and overthinking. Craig shares his life with his wife, the brilliant and tolerant professor and orchestra conductor Jaemi Blair Loeb, their multiple cats, single dog, occasionally working 1979 VW Microbus, and about sixty-four billion books.
